Science is for everyone, however there is a huge gender imbalance created during the progression of science career. Since 1901, there have been 844 male winners of the Nobel Prize, but just 48 female winners out of which only 18 are from Science. Thanks to the recent awareness through global policies and media influence, the gender ratio at the graduate entry level is almost 50:50 in many countries, however, reducing drastically when progressing towards PhD. There is a true need to inspire the next generation to pursue science as a fantastic career pathway.

One can become a real life star being a scientist, and can create a better future – so be inspired!

Share Science is a new science outreach activity aiming to promote research from underrepresented women, simultaneously inspiring future scientists. This event is aimed to be conducted once in two years across globally.

Thanks to L’Oreal-UNESCO for Women in Science for their funding on our launch event to be held in India.
